What does it mean to have a personal relationship with Christ?

It means you recognize that you are a sinner and that Christ shed His blood so that you can spend eternity with Him in heaven. Without accepting Christ, you will spend eternity in hell. God wants us to know where we will spend eternity. 1 John 5:13, "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life."

When you have accepted Christ as your savior, you have a promise of eternal. You also have access to Christ at any time, He will listen to you and guide you. Jeremiah 33:3, "Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do now know."
